Each is a whopping 3 1/2" thick and made from ultra soft 100% merino sheepskin pelts. If you're getting a multi-pelt rug, the pelts are professionally matched and sewn together for a continuous luxurious look and feel. Additionally, our sheepskin rugs have been tanned using the most advanced technology known to man. As a result, simple care is all that is needed to maintain their beauty and comfort. Though wool is a springy fiber, after long use it may tend to mat down a bit. To restore the pile to its original state, brush it up with a coarse brush. The coarser the brush the better. Wire brushes work best and do not harm the fleece.
We include a Sheepskin Care Brush (also known as a wool card or slicker brush) with every rug purchased; a $12.95 value. The Sheepskin Care Brush is designed to separate the wool fibers of your sheepskin rug and pull dust and debris up to be vacuumed off, if necessary. Wool fleece is a natural fiber and resists soiling, this simplifies cleaning. In most cases spot cleaning with warm water and mild soap is all that is needed ("mild" is the operative word). If you should stain your sheepskin rug beyond your ability to remove the stain, then find a dry cleaner that specializes in cleaning leather.

The Essex and Blanc Sur Blanc Designer Sheepskin Rugs are made of 100% Merino Sheepskin and measure a whopping 3 1/2 inches thick! Dimensions for each are approximately 44 inches by 66 inches. Each are hand-crafted; pelt selection, dye job, cutting and even some of the sewing.
